A 19th c. set of seven important French papier peinte panels depicting nymphs dancing and neoclassical vases with floral bouquets flanked by putti. Three panels depicting two nymphs with cymbals, three depicting flora and one fame within gilt wood frames. Note: These wallpaper panels are after a set by Reveillon, the leading manufacturer of decorative panels of the period. The original set dates from 1788 and an example is in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Paris, illustrated in L. Hoskins, "The Papered Wall", New York, 1994. Size: 54.25"H x 24'W Item # 484 |
